No compensation:
Even a year after the Uttarakhand tragedy, the affected families have not been properly rehabilitated (‘It’s a long road to recovery’, June 16). Many people are living in pitiable conditions as they have not received the promised help from the government. It seems the rescue and rehabilitation is beyond the state government and there is need for the Centre to intervene.

Wake up, save youth
That drugs are destroying the youth in Punjab is no secret. The government should check smuggling, peddling, distribution and consumption of drugs in the state. Political leaders and bureaucrats must rise to save the youth from this deadly disease before things go out of hand.
